Hitmaker Justin Bieber not only has a flawless pop, but also a keen eye when it comes to streetwear-inspired style. His crazy mix of batik, sliders and logo T-shirts melted into what was popularly known as Scumbro. On paper, it looks so wrong that fashion scientists are still scratching their heads to figure out why it feels right to scroll down the screen. Grams.
The look is complemented by Bieber's ever-changing hairstyle rotation. Some cuts have missed, but if Bieber hits, you will most likely find that this cut was copied by his legion of fans on the streets. Here's Justin Bieber's best hairstyles, if you like his biggest follicle hits, and ask the top hairdresser James Hooker, a stylist at the Liberty branch of the British hairdressing chain Ruffians, how to get the look.
The platinum fade
From Channing Tatum to Zac Efron, quite a few A-listers have platinated their hair with varying degrees of success. Bieber is at the successful end and combines the vivacious hue with a sparkling undercut that blends with his healthy boyish face to make a cut straight out of the paradise for youthful idols.
"Ask your barber for a crossfade from two to four on the sides, with the top not connected to achieve the Fohawk," says Hooker. "This style is best for thinner straight hair. Thicker hair would have to be thinned out. Use sea salt spray on towel-dried hair, blow-dry it to the desired side, and finally use a pomade or paste that your fingers apply to the root for unwashed appearance. "
The undercut sweep back
Although there may be more than a bit of our favorite pidgeot pidgeot in this Biebs style, we enjoy the soft and less severe dyeing very much. According to Hooker, this is because the dark roots outgrow and soften the contrast between the platinum and its dark features.
"This would be a grade two or three on the sides, but ask the barber not to sharpen or sculpt the edges," he says. "This androgynous, deliberately messy look can be achieved with sea salt spray applied to the root. Blow down the root first, then blow back to create a larger volume. Apply a pomade or paste to the roots so that the ends are softer and less pronounced. Fight and manipulate without too much fuss to achieve this just-out-of-bed look. "
Grunge long hair
Plaid shirts, ripped jeans, caps – the grunge style has not been so popular since 1992. And Bieber has grown his curls to match his newly discovered rockstar-meets-surfer-dude image.
"Have you kept it the same length everywhere, texturing the ends for a messier unkempt look," says Hooker. "There is no need to layer here, but a lot of texturing is required. Apply a volume mousse or cream to the towel-dried hair and sea salt spray.
"Either let it just naturally dry for this feeling or you can dry it out with a hair dryer. If you want to go one step further, add a pomade or paste to your roots with your fingers for the ultimate day on the beach. "
The buzz cut
Blonde tint on a humming cut with a diamond earring that gleams off. Is that you, Slim? No, it's just the real Justin Bieber and it's one of the easiest hairstyles to handle. The severity of the cut can emphasize and exaggerate your facial features, but this slightly longer overall cut softens the look, as the longer sideburns take in Bieber's angular jaw.
"Ask for a second grade, or if you want a bit more skin with a first grade," says Hooker. "You do not need a product with this style, but if you want to define it, add some paste to remove the fluffiness."
The Mod Mop
This hairstyle is a textured fallback mod cut and is the anti-thesis to Bieber's platinum-colored fade haircut – an updated version of a generation-old style. "Ask your barber for a wrap around," says Hooker. "If your hair is flat and smooth like Bieb's, you have to ask for a lot of texture that softens the fringes and sideburns. Ask for hair on the sides and around the ears to rejuvenate to improve the look.
"Blow-dry the hair and work it backwards and forwards in circular motions so that the hair can calm down and sit naturally. Rub a pea-sized amount of dull clay between your hands until it is sticky and apply it vigorously to the hair. "
