Although they all look pretty natural, the cast of Riverdale has undergone some serious hair changes to become their characters. Take for example KJ Apa. He needs to color his reddish-brown hair bright red to play Archie Andrews. Even Cole Sprouse gets darker for his attitude towards Jughead Jones. Now that the hit show is on break, some of the performers go back to their pre-Riverdale looks – at least for now. The gorgeous Camila Mendes even returned to her natural brown hair on Monday and does not look officially like her character Veronica Lodge.
I do not know about you, but I assumed that Mendes naturally has black hair. As it turned out, she dyed it all the time. The hairdresser Matt Rez showed the do on Instagram of his client and explained the long process, Mendes "back to their roots" to lead.
"The removal of blue-black layers that we made for #riverdale for their #VeronicaLodge character was a 6-hour process to maintain the integrity of their hair. Extreme care in order to be gentle and the use of high quality color products is key, "he wrote.

After painstakingly removing the blue-back dye, stylist Buddy Porter gave Mendes choppy layers that were perfect for the summer. "If I'm in a salon until midnight, I'm glad it's with these two," he wrote on Instagram, sharing the same enchanting photo.
Mendes is not the only star who returns to his roots. Sprouse was discovered by a fan on Twitter with his natural dirty blonde and I dare to say that he looks very good.
Riverdale's parents also come into play. Bettys mother, played by girl Amick, got a trendy "Summer Cut" and looks damn chic.
Who's next? Will Apa remove the red? Is Lili Reinhart blond, of course? Time will tell and we will watch.
